Statement of Art

The reason I paint is to express my inner dialogue; I paint about emotions and experiences I encounter.

My artworks are made mostly of acrylic and oil paints on canvas, as well as charcoal and other drawing mediums. My color palette, style, and content resonate with feelings and sensations I am going through at the time the piece is being created. I often incorporate imaginary aspects with realistic forms to create a sense of warped reality.

When I make art I express and investigate human emotions and realities. I combine themes of nature and the physical experience to record my story of the shared human condition. I paint what is personal and universal. Frequently, I explore topics of growth and spirituality, the feminine experience, self-power and reflection, and duality. Introspection initiated by emotions has been an integral part of my artistic process.
